VPN Use Instructions
Connect to VPN
Now that you finished up the setup, you can now use the vpn to access Concern
1.Open Internet Explorer
2. Type www.concernhousing.org into the address bar and press Enter

3. Click on the “Staff Only” tab

4. Click “Connect”

5. You may receive a Security Warning pop-up that looks like this.
If you do, Click “Yes”

6. Type in your Username and Password.
(Please Note: this username and password is the same for your Concern Account)

7. Click “Login”
8. You should now be connected to the VPN and your screen should look similar to this:
From the main menu there will be several functions you can use as shown below. See the instructions below on each function.

Outline of VPN Functions
The VPN page allows you to perform four functions:
- Go to the Concern Intranet Page (Email, Precision Care, etc.)
- Go to the O Drive (Open Exchange Files, Shared Files, etc.)
- Go to the Q Drive (Your Personal Files)
- “Activate SSL-VPN Tunnel Mode” is used for advanced functions like remotely controlling a desktop computer.
You may access these by clicking on the appropriate bookmark.
The Concern Intranet Page
In order to access any of the functions on the Intranet Page such as Precision Care, Forms, etc., click on the “Concern Intranet” bookmark

Your page should look like this. You can access Precision Care, Web E-mail, & Forms just as you do at the office by clicking the appropriate links under the Main Menu.

The O Drive
1. To access files on the O Drive, click on the “O Drive” bookmark

2. Please type in your username and password and click “login”

3. This will bring you to the O Drive where you can access shared files
(Please Note: You will only be able to access files you have rights to)
4. You can open these files by clicking on the appropriate file directory and file name.

5. You may also save a file to your local computer by right clicking on the file name and selecting “Save As”

6. The buttons on the top right perform a variety of functions:

- Directs you to Online Help
- Logout of entire VPN
- Create a New Directory/File
- Upload a file
- Go back to the VPN Main Menu (Exit File Manager)
- Delete File
- Rename File

Steps for Drive Buttons
To Create a New Directory/File
To Create a New Directory/File, click on the appropriate button. 
Name the new directory by typing it in the new directory box and press “Ok”

Your folder will be listed in alphabetical order on the list.

Delete/Rename a Folder
To delete the folder, click the garbage can icon. 
To rename the folder, click the pencil and paper icon. 
Upload a File to the Server
To upload a file, navigate to the directory where you want the file and click on the appropriate button. 
In the Upload File box, click “Browse”

Then choose the file on your computer that you would like to upload and click “Open”

The name of the file that you will like to upload will be listed and click “OK”
You may receive a prompt asking if you would like to display secure and non-secure items. Click “Yes.”

Your file will be listed on the bottom of the list.

Exit out of File Manager
a. To Exit File Manager 
This will bring you back to the main menu.
The Q Drive
a. This Drive holds all personal directories.
b. To access your directory, simply click on your directory name.
(Please Note: You will only have access to your directory)

For using the file functions, see the “O Drive” section.
To log out of the VPN:
a. Logout of the VPN by clicking on the logout button.

Advanced Features:
If you wish to run certain programs, like pcAnywhere, Remote Desktop, etc. you will need to use the extra functionality of Tunnel Mode(most will not need this). There is some initial setup that must be done before you can run it.
1) In Windows, Click on “Start”, then “Run” and finally type services.msc into the prompt and click “OK”

2) You should now see the Services window. Locate the Telephony Service, right click and choose Properties.

3) On the properties menu, do the following:
- Change the Startup Type to: Automatic
- Click the Start Button
- Click OK

4) Finally close the Services Window that remains
5) Please log in to the VPN by opening Internet Explorer and going to: www.concernhousing.org, choosing Staff Only and Connecting to the VPN.
You will be presented with the following webpage:

6) It will take about 30 seconds or so and you will see several buttons light and change. Once the status bar says, “Fortinet SSL VPN client connected to server” you are ready to run any additional application, like pcAnywhere, etc. In the future you will only need to click on the “Activate SSL-VPN Tunnel Mode” button
