Concern for Independent Living, Inc. is a non-profit agency committed to helping low income persons and persons with disabilities to live in the community with dignity and enhanced opportunities through the provision of housing and support services. We are one of the largest housing agencies of this kind in New York State, currently serving approximately 850 individuals and families in over 220 locations. Concern offers a variety of housing options with individualized support services designed to support personal growth and independence.
For over 40 years, Concern for Independent Living has been helping low income and disabled persons achieve their goals of greater independence, housing stability, and increased pride in their accomplishments. Our programs have made it possible for individuals and families to transition out of homelessness and have reunited parents with children from whom they have been separated.
Our agency and its programs have been accredited by CARF, honored with National Awards for Housing Excellence, and has recently received the Benefactor’ Award from the American Institute of Architects on Long Island, the Smart Growth Award from Vision Long Island and the first Visionary Award from NAMI-NYS. Concern is known throughout New York State for its high quality housing and services, and we are proud of our ongoing efforts to continue to enhance and improve our programs and services. It is our commitment to develop outstanding programs, combined with individualized services for our residents, that has helped us earn our reputation and national recognition.
